Brooke Henderson experienced an up-and-down first two days at the Mississaugua Golf and Country Club but saved her best for Saturday as she finds herself atop the leaderboard at the CPKC Women's Open.

The Smith Falls, Ont., native fired a spectacular 6-under 65 on Saturday to take the outright lead at 11-under through three rounds. It was an inconsistent round for Henderson to start, as she sunk four birdies to two bogeys thru 14. However, the Canadian turned it on late in the round, sinking birdies on 15 and 16 before taking a two-shot lead with an eagle on the par-4 17th, where she holed-out from the bunker.

An inconsistent first round left Henderson sitting at even, but a brilliant second round - including four birdies on the final seven holes - left her at 5-under heading into Saturday.

15-year-old amateur and Calgary native Aphrodite Deng stole the spotlight on Thursday, while Brooke Henderson impressed on Friday.

Deng, who shot a 5-under 66 to sit tied for second on Thursday, was a bit more inconsistent on Friday. She climbed as high as second in the leaderboard through her first nine holes, but struggled at the turn.

A stretch from the eighth hole to the 15th saw Deng card five bogeys, including a double bogey on 12, to drop from 7-under to 3-under, where she finished her round.

Deng had a much better round on Saturday and put her right back into contention heading into the final round. The amateur sunk four birdies and just one bogey in the third round, jumping into a tie for sixth as she headed to the clubhouse two back of the leader.

In July, Deng became the first Canadian to win the U.S. Girls' Junior Championship which helped earn her an exemption into the CPKC Women's Open.
