Canadian P Bremner highlights Canadians taken in MLB Draft
The Los Angeles Angels have selected right-handed Canadian pitcher Tyler Bremner with the second overall pick in the 2025 MLB Draft.

The Los Angeles Angels have selected right-handed Canadian pitcher Tyler Bremner with the second overall pick in the 2025 MLB Draft.
The 21-year-old was born in San Diego, California, but both of Bremner's parents are from Ontario, with father Jason from Mississauga and his mother Jennifer from Queensville.
With UC Santa Barbara last season, Bremner started in 14 games, posting a 3.49 ERA and a 1.022 WHIP.
The 6-foot-2, 190-pound righty was ranked 18th on MLB.com's prospect list.
The Angels earned the right to select second overall after finishing with a 63-99 record last season, last in the American League West division.
The Baltimore Orioles later took outfielder Slater de Brun out of Summit High School in Oregon with the 37th overall selection.
De Brun, 18, grew up in Bend, Ore., but has a Canadian passport as his mother, Julie emigrated to Toronto in 1995.
The 5-foot-10 outfielder was ranked No. 24 on MLB.com's prospect list.
St. Bruno de Montarville, Que., native Charles Davalan was selected 31st overall by the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Davalan, 21, played last season with the University of Arkansas recording 93 hits with 14 home runs and 60 RBIs in 65 games.
The 5-foot-9 outfielder was ranked No. 54 on MLB.com's prospect list.
Cam Leiter, the nephew of former Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Al Leiter, was also selected 65th overall by the Dodgers out of Florida State University.
The right-handed pitcher went 5-1 in seven games with Florida State with a 4.63 earned-run average with 56 strike outs in 35 innings pitched.
Leiter, 21, is a dual citizen with the United States and Canada as his mother is from Maple Ridge, B.C.
He was ranked No. 114 on MLB.com's top prospect list.
The Cleveland Guardians selected pitcher Will Hynes with the 70th overall pick.
Hynes, 18, was pitching out of Lorne Park Secondary School in Mississauga, Ont., last season.
The 6-foot-2 righty was ranked 163rd overall on MLB.com's prospect list and committed to Wake Forest next season.
